About

Woman at Rally Speaking into Bullhorn to the crowd

#WomenWillLead24 will bring together 500 workers— from nurses to fast food workers, partners, allies, and guests— in Charlotte, NC from September 26-28.

From educational chats to community-building; we have a set of engaging workshops, energizing plenaries, and a powerful action that will prepare us to go back to our locals and campaigns ready to build more power than ever.

This is our time.

This is our movement.

This is OUR UNION.

No matter what your job title is or your background— this event is for YOU.

We all have a stake in building a more equitable economy and by centering Black women and other women of color, we get right to the heart of building communities that work for all of us. This is about big, organizing breakthroughs and smart campaigns that will change entire industries and make all our jobs better.

We’re declaring our vision for a future that truly respects us, protects us and pays us. We’re organizing our communities, making our voices heard and building the majorities that can turn our vision into reality. We are determined to build power in our communities and drive political change. Regardless of November’s outcome, we need to move forward together and organize to win lasting worker power.

#WomenWillLead24 is lifting issues facing every worker – from greedflation to job safety – as well as shining a light on policies that have particular impact for women, femme folk, trans folk, and nonbinary or gender nonconforming workers – from reproductive healthcare, to child and elder care, to the devastating impacts of climate change.

Featured Campaigns

Please bring comfortable clothing, preferably your campaign/local t-shirts to be able to show other participants and special guests where you’re coming from, as well as comfortable shoes. As we near the week of this convening, please check the weather for Charlotte, NC to determine what clothing will be most appropriate.

In addition, make sure to bring your favorite ‘power outfit’ for our Friday evening event!

A lactation room and on-site childcare will be available for parents that need it and signed up when they registered.

We will provide translation and interpretation services throughout the event to ensure that language is not a barrier to full participation. The summit will be a language justice space, in which we strive to ensure that each participant can speak (and understand summit programming in) the language they feel most comfortable and most able to express themselves in at all times. To this end, we will be providing simultaneous interpretation in most spaces at the summit.

All participants can help to make this multilingual space function and show solidarity with one another by wearing their interpretation gear at all times, in order to understand when a language they don’t speak is being spoken by one of their union siblings. There may also be times that languages other than English are spoken from the front of the room, so English speakers should be prepared to use their headsets to receive the simultaneous interpretation into English.

This may (or may not) be a new experience for you, but our language justice team will be there to help explain how to use the equipment and help you to troubleshoot any issues you may have.

Please try to pack only what fits in carry-on luggage due to baggage fees and tight scheduling.  Carry on dimensions are generally 22” x 14” x 9”, but check airline guidelines for exact sizes and limitations for liquids. If you do need to pay to check in a bag, the costs will need to be approved and reimbursed by your home local/campaign.

At our summit, attendees have the opportunity to engage in a variety of wellness classes and training sessions scheduled for Thursday and Friday throughout the day. These offerings include yoga, sound baths, guided meditation, fitness classes, and more! Our wellness activities are designed to be inclusive and accessible, accommodating all body types and physical conditions. We encourage you to bring appropriate clothing for any fitness activities and come ready for a blend of fun, relaxation, and rejuvenation.

All meals and snacks in Charlotte will be provided, but campaigns and locals are responsible for food and transportation to/from one’s home airport.
