WOMEN LEAD:
Unions For All

September 26-28, 2024 | Charlotte, NC

#WomenWillLead24

There’s no doubt about it: women and femmes’ labor keeps our economy running. That’s why there’s no one better suited to lead and invest in.

Workers across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico will meet in Charlotte, NC this September for #WomenWillLead24, a gathering to build power together to win Unions for All. Focused on women’s leadership and the economic and cultural impact of women’s work, this dynamic convening will unite Black, brown, white, API, Indigenous, and immigrant workers.

#WomenWillLead24 will lift issues facing every worker – from greedflation to job safety – as well as shine a light on policies that have particular impact for women, femme folk, trans folk, and nonbinary or gender nonconforming workers – from reproductive healthcare, to the food service industry, to child and elder care, to the devastating impacts of climate change.

In the words of SEIU President April Verrett, “women united are unstoppable.” Now is the time to raise our voices together to demand a society where we all can thrive.

Demand elected officials center women of color in power-building and policymaking.

Women’s organizing leadership is central to building a stronger labor movement and winning worker power.

We’re taking our fight to Black, brown, poor white, and immigrant service and care workers who have been written out and written off.

Working women and gender expansive people are in the driver’s seat, moving forward with determination.

The Schedule

Focused on education and community-building, a set of engaging workshops, energizing plenaries, and a powerful action will connect and prepare participants to go back to their locals and campaigns ready to build more power than ever.

Union Power

We all have a stake in building a more equitable economy and by centering Black women and other women of color, we get right to the heart of building communities that work for all of us. This is about big organizing breakthroughs and smart campaigns that will change entire industries and make all our jobs better.

Political Power

A month out from the 2024 US presidential election, and as SEIU endorses Kamala Harris for President, workers will connect our organizing, breakthrough campaigns to rewrite the rules, and sharp electoral engagement to realize their power on the job and at the ballot box.
